Rejected New Yorker cover idea

I wanted to share a cover idea that was rejected by the New Yorker that I really like. It was very much inspired by our dog, Scooter.

This cover is terrific! Every time I look at the dog's eyes a laugh works its way up my throat. "Hey, Master! I'm right here!"
